4S Information Systems Ltd

EasyDAS is manufactured by 4S information Systems Ltd, trading as 4S DAWN Clinical Software, who supply the DAWN range of clinical decision support software packages used by many top healthcare institutions around the world.

4S was founded in 1984 and has been involved in medical applications since start-up. Currently, we have 16 staff members, and over 300 clients in 15 countries worldwide. An estimated 500,000 patients are managed using our software.

We are based in a rural setting in the NW corner of England about one hour drive from Manchester to the South and 1 hour drive to Scotland to the North. We are very close to the beautiful Lake District fells and lakes.

Company History

1984 -Founded by Syd and Sheena Stewart in September 1984 – a partnership. Became 4S Information Systems Ltd in 1996.

1984 – 1993 Consultancy work on Strategic Data Planning with companies such as ICI Plc (Astra Zeneca), Unilever, British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, and Royal Mail International.

1985 – Created first PC based database for Plasmapheresis patients in the Blood Transfusion Service.

1986 Creation of the trade mark DAWN to represent a new era in software where users, with minimum professional help can create reports and modify the system to fit their particular requirements.

1987 Created DAWN AC Anticoagulation Management software

1984 – 1995 Developed several database applications for EMI Music, KPMG, Blood Transfusion Banks, Nuclear Power Station Chemistry Laboratories and Antenatal Screening and Special Serology Laboratories.

1997 Developed Rheumatology Patient tracking Software

1997 First achieved ISO 9000 and TickIT quality management certification

2002 Created Clinical Haematology Patient tracking software

2005 Developed Multi-disciplinary Team Software

2005 Developed a comprehensive web browser version of anticoagulation software.

2007 Developed a comprehensive web browser version of rheumatology software.

2010 Gastroenterology, Hepatitis C, Dermatology, Growth Factor (ESAs) added to product range

2011 – EasyDAS is created

Over 80% of 4S staff have a degree or equivalent or a professional qualification.
